What to do right away

  1. Move away calmly

    Take children and pets away and close nearby windows. Don't wave your arms about.

  2. Take a photo from a distance

    It helps us see whether they're bees, how many there are and where they've settled.

  3. Call or message Francesco

    On 328 157 9543, WhatsApp too. Tell us the address, whether they're on a tree, a roof or a wall, and how high up.

  4. Wait and keep people away

    A swarm that has just settled is usually calm. Leave it alone until we arrive.

What not to do

  • Don't spray insecticide

    It kills the bees and leaves contaminated honey inside the wall or roof.

  • Don't block the hole they use

    The bees stay inside, look for another way out and often find one into your home.

  • Don't use water, smoke or fire

    It makes them nervous and the removal harder and more dangerous.

  • Don't call pest control

    A swarm shouldn't be exterminated: it can be collected alive and moved into a hive.

A swarm looking for a home

In spring a bee colony splits in two. Part of it leaves with the old queen and settles on a branch or a wall, while scout bees look for somewhere to live.

If they choose a hole in a wall or the space under a roof, the bees move in and build comb. The longer you wait, the more comb there is to remove.

A swarm on a tree can be collected quickly. For bees inside a roof or a wall, we have to open it up, remove the comb and gather the bees.

How we work

We look at your photo and tell you straight away whether we can help and what it involves. Then Francesco comes over with his bee suit, veil and a box.

He gathers the bees, queen included, and shuts them in the box. If they've built comb inside a wall or a roof, he removes it along with the bees. The bees leave with us and carry on living in a hive.

Time and cost depend on where the bees are: we'll tell you on the phone before we come.
